Scotland is in the World Cup. We can tell ☕⚽
You can always tell when a big football tournament comes around.
Not because of the wall charts or the fact everyone suddenly becomes an international football expert overnight. You can tell because strange things start happening if you sell flowers.
This past week we've had more conversations about Scotland than we've had since 1998, and before we knew it all our Scottish customers are asking about blue and white roses.
I didn't see that one coming.
Scotland have inspired a bouquet
Now, I can't honestly say "Scotland qualifying for the World Cup" featured heavily in our business planning meetings, but here we are.
We've definitely noticed a little bump in sales to Scotland, which has to be one of the stranger side effects of this world cup.
From what I've seen, sending a blue and white rose happens to be a rather good way of earning a few brownie points before announcing you're staying out to watch the match... and will be home a lot later than planned.
It's one of those wonderfully odd things about selling flowers. You never quite know what's going to influence what people buy. One week it's birthdays, the next it's football and blue and white roses.
So yes... if you're backing Scotland and feel a few brownie points might come in handy, we've got you covered over at InterRose.
We can't promise they'll improve Scotland's chances...
...but they might improve yours.
Till the kettle goes back on again…
We'll be cheering Scotland on, but being English, it’s mostly because we have invested in a few extra blue and white roses now and we need to sell them 😀.
Thanks for reading,
Nick and all Interdelightful 💫
P.S. If you're looking for a blue and white (or indeed red and white) roses over the coming weeks you'll find them waiting over at InterRose.
